Sutika Kala: -
Duration of diet and regimen management after delivery, susrutha & vagbhata said that 1&1/2 month some other acharyas said that reappearance of menstruation, six months & four months.
Anatomical changes occurring in reproductive organs during pregnancy reach their almost pregnancy stage after about six weeks, however, in resumption of pregnancy physiology i.e. ovarian menstrual cycle great individual variations occur, as some women restarts their mensuration from the second month of delivery, while others may not give any specific time limit, rather have just said that ‘ reappearance of mensuration’ in other words it can be said that 1&1/2 month duration & reappearance of ministration is given considering anatomical & physiological changes of reproductive system respectively. The time limit of six month probably reflects the idea about reappearance of menstrual cycle, while 4 months period is probably given keeping in view the mudaghrbha or other abnormal labours, where in post-operative management for 4 months has been advised.
Acc to me in normal delivery maintain your diet and regimen for 1&1/2 month. In case LACS maintain up to 4 months

Samanya Sutika Paricharya:- (Mode of Diet & Life) :-
